Fafi MP Salah Yakub has launched a programme that will ensure that all children in the constituency will not miss school because of lack of fees.
The MP said the programme will see the students receive school fees to access secondary school education.
He was speaking when he distributed Form One requirements to residents who are unable to purchase them, including uniform, mattresses, mosquito nets and other accessories.
He also said he will launch a milk programme dubbed “Maziwa na Masomo” for all primary schools in the constituency, where every pupil will get two packets per day; one in the morning and another in the afternoon.
The aim is to increase enrollment and retention, thus guaranteeing universal access to education.
On this deliberation, local leaders directed chiefs to ensure all children are in school, and those who are unable to realize this were told to resign.
The MP, through the NGCDF, has been supporting infrastructure initiatives, upgrading schools and improving facilities to create an environment conducive for quality education, apart from motivating teachers and learners.
