All students who applied for NGCDF bursaries will be considered, says MP

South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro. He has promised to give every student who applied for assistance the bursary from the NGCDF kitty.

All students who applied for the NGCDF bursary will receive the money, South Mugirango Member of Parliament (MP) Sylvanus Osoro has assured his constituents.

The MP, who was speaking at Etago town, thanked Treasury for releasing the money to constituencies early to enable the offices to reinforce education and other development projects in their respective constituencies.

Lauding the new model of higher education funding, Osoro asked students to work hard as the best way of appreciating the government’s aid.

“The government has done its part; it now remains on your side to seize the opportunity and better your lives,” he said.

Osoro, who is National Assembly’s Majority Whip, said that his office will give priority to education because it is the cornerstone of any development.

The MP revealed that his NGCDF office had used more than Ksh51 million to fund both university and secondary school students from poor homes to continue with their studies.

University students present supported the housing levy, saying that it will resolve the unemployment crisis in the country in addition to reducing congestion in universities.

Led by Fredrick Abuta, the students asked the public to shun political rhetoric and support development projects.
