Bungoma parents warned against inciting students to eject Principals

Sitikho ward MCA Grace Sundukwa makes her remarks

Sitikho Member of County Assembly (MCA) Grace Sundukwa has cautioned parents against inciting students to eject Principals whose schools underperformed in the 2023 KCSE examinations.

She made the remarks in Matulo ward, Webuye West sub-county where she said that such actions will sabotage the education sector in the region.

Sundukwa noted that there was a need for dialogue among education stakeholders rather than using violence to sort out matters.

“It is the responsibility of the students, parents and teachers to produce good results, not the Principal alone,” she said.

The MCA also raised concern over rampant teenage pregnancies among school girls.

She disclosed that Bungoma County is among the top counties with the highest early pregnancy cases among school girls.

Sundukwa called on relevant authorities to take action against culprits who impregnate and defile young girls and ensure they face the law.
