The supremacy wars between Kisii County Governor Simba Arati and South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro is a threat to education in the region, Gusii Young Professionals have charged.

Confirming their support to Education CS Ezekiel Machogu in his quest to hold a meeting to reconcile the fighting leaders led by their chairman Douglas Ogari, the youth said the continuous intrigues between the two leaders will interrupt learning in schools as delays in bursary funds will be experienced.

“Their public confrontation will cause fear and panic among school going children and the public,” added Ogari.

Saying that as on organization they cherish peace, they appealed to the leaders to agree and meet to polish their political differences in an open meeting to be arbitrated by Machogu.

South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro. It is not clear if the legislator is ready for a handshake with his governor.

However, Arati has since rejected the invitation.

“I defeated Ezekiel Machogu in the gubernatorial race but he was appointed CS and is now using his position to derail my government,” he said.

Arati vowed to defend his firm stand on fighting corruption in the government while delivering quality services in education, health and transport sectors.

He asked Kemboa Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church during a fundraiser to pray for him because his life was in danger from his political enemies.

The concerns come after the alleged confrontation between supporters of Sylvanus Osoro and Simba Arati at Nyakembene Market in South Mugirango Constituency that left many people injured.
