Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machagu, has instructed all Ministry of Education field officers to report to their duty stations every working day.

This is aimed at helping parents to prepare for the 2024 school calendar.

Machogu also reminded parents and guardians about the school opening dates next year, revealing that first term begins on January 8, 2024 but Form One will report on January 15, 2024.

Additionally, Machogu advised parents to guide their children responsibly during the festive season, particularly warning them about the dangers of drug and substance abuse.

“Parents must caution their children against the dangers of drug and substance abuse that are most prevalent in some parts of the country,” he said.

Last week, the CS warned school principals against increasing fees for secondary school learners, stating that they do not have the authority to do so.

Machogu acknowledged the challenging economic situation and emphasized that raising school fees would be unfair to many parents.
