257 needy students to get full scholarships in Khwisero

Bursaries
Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka. He has given full scholarships to 257 needy children in his Constituency.

257 needy students from Khwisero Constituency will be placed on full scholarships courtesy of the NG-CDF, area MP Christopher Aseka said today.

Aseka revealed that each of the beneficiaries will be picked from all the villages in the Constituency.

He said the beneficiaries should have scored 300 marks and above in this year’s KCPE examinations, and that the rest will also be issued with normal education bursaries.

Speaking in his Constituency, Aseka said the vetting process was conducted on Tuesday at the sub-location levels, with beneficiaries expected to be announced soon.

“The vetting panels had firm instructions to pick at least one student from each of the 257 villages in Khwisero,” he said.

The MP pointed out that the latest beneficiaries will add to a growing list of hundreds of others whose education is funded by NG-CDF.

These are besides hundreds more who are getting their education courtesy of scholarships from his Aseka Miradi Foundation.

“Tackling illiteracy in Khwisero is one of my priorities and is meant to end the cycles of poverty in the Constituency,” said Aseka.

“We are also putting up modern learning facilities to provide a conducive environment for our learners and their teachers. And we are already seeing the fruits through enhanced academic performance,” he added.
