Cabinet Secretary for Education, Ezekiel Machogu, has commended KNUT for advocating teachers’ welfare and improving learners’ performance.
Addressing KNUT delegates at their 63rd Annual Conference, themed “Teachers we need for the Education we want,” Machogu underscored the vital role of teachers in the nation.
He outlined the government’s commitment to enhancing education quality, implementing Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), and fulfilling recommendations from the Presidential Working Task Force report.
Machogu challenged school heads to support the government’s climate change agenda, aiming to plant over 15 billion trees by 2030, with schools being pivotal in tree planting and seedling production.
Encouraging teachers to stay focused, he emphasized their role as knowledge custodians crucial for the future workforce.
