We have prioritized skilling of youth, PS Muoria says

TVET PS Dr Esther Muoria. She has said the government has prioritized skilling of youth through the TVET sub-sector.

TVET PS Esther Muoria has said skilling youth has been prioritized by the government.

She was speaking at the Eldoret National Polytechnic where she met over 56 principals from the North Rift in a seminar on the CBT training.

“We have rolled out the competency-based education and model of training, and because we want it done well, we as a department have decided to re-craft the curricular to address the skills that we must impart to our youth,” Muoria said.

She said retooling trainers has already begun for the effective impartation of skills and to reenergize the CDAC (Curriculum Delivery and Certification Council), revealing that even small traders can be assessed and certified in national polytechnics.

“If you are even a butcher and you want to be certified, come to our national polytechnics and you will be assessed,” she said.
