Shinyalu NG-CDF Board has been instructed by area MP Fred Ikana to go round the 32 sub-locations and identify two bright needy children from each to be placed on full scholarships.

The Board chairman Thomas Aseka has express orders to ensure that all the 64 children have scored over 350 marks as the baseline for qualification.

The MP said the scholars will be joining hundreds of other learners who benefit from NG-CDF education bursaries and from his Ikana Maendeleo Foundation.

“The 64 scholars will just be part of a pool of hundreds of children joining form one and progressing in various high schools that will eventually change cycles of poverty in their respective families and communities,” the MP revealed, pointing out that the idea is to promote education across the constituency.

Speaking at Lirhanda Friends Church in the area, Ikana hailed the hundreds of students who had been sponsored through high school by his Foundation for posting good results in the last Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations (KCSE).

The legislator stated that education is one of the priorities in his development agenda.

“My objective is to ensure every child in Shinyalu acquires education, which they will eventually use to transform their lives, families and entire communities,” he added.
