Celebrations resonate at Nasaruni Girls’ Primary School in Narok County, as the girls rescued from FGM and early marriages achieve an impressive mean grade of 314 marks in KCPE.

One standout student, Branice Dikirr, marked her success with a remarkable score of 406.

Her journey, fraught with adversity, saw her rescued from Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and early marriage by the church.

Dikirr expressed gratitude for the grace that led to her academic success.

“I aspire to be a lawyer so as to fight for the rights of girls in the Maasai Community,” she stated.

Similarly, Maloi Koonyo, attaining a commendable 371 marks, shares the aspiration to become a lawyer and advocate for women’s rights.

Rescued from forced marriage with the assistance of the church, Koonyo urges parents to discard outdated practices and prioritize the education of their daughters.

School Director Bishop Moses Sayo emphasizes that Nasaruni Girls’ Primary School was established to inspire and instill hope in the girl child, often marginalized by society.

Bishop Sayo, affiliated with the Kenya Assemblies of God, sheds light on the challenges faced by girls in the Maasai Community.

He revealed that the school actively addresses these challenges by providing sanitary towels to girls and extending full scholarships to those facing extreme poverty.
