Joy as NG-CDF gifts school new bus on 50th anniversary

Teachers welcome the new bus from the NG-CDF.

There was joy at Mwakichuchu Boys High School in Sagalla, Voi Sub-county in Taita Taveta County as the school received a brand new bus from the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) yesterday.

It was a befitting gift as the school marked its 50th anniversary, and is purposed to ease transportation of students.

The 46-seater bus was handed the school by NG-CDF Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Yusuf Mbuno, who said the school was selected based on performance, and the fact that it is the oldest around.

The new bus delivered by NG-CDF is boarded by the school fraternity to test its comfort.

He urged the school to always ensure the bus is in good condition and make good use of it in a bid to ensure excellence in their performance.

“The school is doing well and I want to urge you to let this bus bring positive change. We want to come here next year during the prize giving day and celebrate a sterling performance, ” said Mbuno.

According to him, the 46-seater was consciously designed with the front seats made in a way that it can carry the physically challenged individuals.

“This bus is not just like any other bus that we have around. It was designed in a special way as it considers even our brothers and sisters who are physically challenged. The front seats were designed in a way that they can carry those with physical challenges, ” he said.

On his part, the school principal Andafu Oscar lauded the NG-CDF for the good gesture, noting that it will motivate teachers, students and the community around to trigger even better performance in future.
