Celebrations sweep through private schools in North Rift as they record outstanding results

A wave of celebration swept through private schools in the North Rift following their outstanding performance in the recently released Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examination.

Greenvale School, situated on the outskirts of Eldoret town, emerged as a beacon of academic excellence, witnessing celebrations as over 40 candidates scored 400 marks and above.

Leading the pack was Christina Omurunga Ayacko, who secured an impressive 420 marks, just eight points shy of the national top scorer.

Despite her absence during the announcement, Christina received accolades from teachers and school management, lauding her discipline and unwavering commitment to her studies.

Notable achievers at Greenvale include Vania Tariela (418 marks), Sonia Kipsaita (414) and Leone Barasa (407).

In an interview with the Press, Sonia, aspiring to become a neurologist, expressed gratitude for her teachers and parents for their unwavering support and guidance throughout the examination period.

She acknowledged their role in her success and offered her heartfelt thanks, emphasizing the importance of their backing.

Greenvale Director Norah Ferej attributed the school’s consistent high performance to a collaborative effort between teachers and parents.

She expressed pride in the students’ achievements and affirmed the school’s readiness to embrace the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) while maintaining a commitment to quality education.

Eldoret Premier School also celebrated remarkable results, with top scorer Kosgei Michelle Jebet garnering 418 marks.

School Director Geoffrey Mbugua credited their success to mentorship and a close teacher-student relationship established from the students’ entry into the school.

Hill School, a public institution, joined the ranks of excellence, with over 40 candidates scoring 400 marks and above, achieving a mean score of 380.

Principal Hesbon Ngaira attributed their success to teamwork between the school and parents, emphasizing the potential for public schools to excel with proper management and collaboration.

Other distinguished performers included Potter’s House Academy, Kipkeino School, Little Lambs Academy, and Anxilla School on the outskirts of Eldoret town.
