The Government has been urged to provide grants to private school investors to incentivize their continued support for education development in the country.

Speaking during a prayer day for KCPE and KPSEA candidates at St. Elizabeth Igorera Academy, the school Director Evans Onyango, expressed gratitude to those who invest in education as a business, highlighting its dual role in enriching them and nurturing responsible individuals in society.

Additionally, Onyango stressed that parents should actively promote a love for learning in their children, rather than solely relying on teachers.

“Parents are the first educators of our children; therefore, I urge them to lay a solid foundation for education by instilling a positive attitude toward learning during their formative years,” he urged.

John Nyaringita, the former principal of Riokindo Mixed High School, commended parents for their unwavering support, highlighting that educational success hinges on the candidates’ material, moral, and spiritual backing, instilling the confidence needed to excel in examinations.

Dennis Nyabuto, the headteacher of the St. Elizabeth Igorera Academy celebrated the institution’s progress since its inception in 1998 when it had only 16 pupils.

“Now, with over 400 students from nursery to Junior Secondary School levels, the school is set to present 28 KCPE and 76 KPSEA candidates this year,” he added.

Nyabuto expressed confidence that this year’s examination results would surpass the previous year’s mean score of 314.11.

He credited this anticipated success to students’ determination, material support from parents, and expert guidance from their teachers.

Nyabuto also appealed to the public to create a conducive, noise-free environment around examination centers during the examination period.
