Kitutu Masaba MP Clive Ombane has assured Nyamira residents of their security, lauding the police for arresting the prime suspect in the invasion of Nyansiongo Boys Principal’s home.

He said Interior CS Prof Kithure Kindiki is set to visit the region next month and asked residents to reveal any suspects.

Appealing to the DCI and regular police to walk an extra mile and arrest other members of the night gang, he said it had also attacked Nyamira CECM for education Kennedy Angwenyi and nominated MCA Zipporah Okeyo.

According to Nyamira County Commissioner Onesmus Kyatha, security officers arrested the gang leader who is now assisting the police with investigations.

“My officers are going on with a fruitful investigation,” Kyatha said, revealing that the suspect was tracked and arrested at Kondele Estate at the outskirts of Kisumu town.

He was paraded at Nyamira Police Station where he was positively identified by his victims.

It is said that he is in the the 10-man gang which has been terrorizing residents of Kierira village near Keroka, gang-raping and defiling women and young girls at night.

The impudent gang ransacked the house of the principal, robbed him of more than 180,000 shillings, and took his ATM cards.
