Man arrested while defiling girl, 8 in the bush in Kisii

Nyamira

A man has been apprehended by the police in Isena village Kisii County for the alleged defilement of an 8-year-old girl, a student in grade five.

Reportedly, the assailant, described as a brazen individual, defiled the young girl on a fateful Friday while she was collecting firewood in a nearby thicket.

The residents said that he forcibly dragged her deeper into the bushes, effectively muffling her cries by stuffing her mouth with a handkerchief.

This sinister act unfolded before the terrified eyes of her young companions, who, unable to intervene, fled to inform their parents about the horrifying incident.

The commotion prompted concerned villagers to rush to the scene where they found him in the act.

Subsequently, the accused was taken into custody and transported to the Nyangusu police station, where he would be required to provide a statement as part of the ongoing investigation.

Meanwhile, the young victim, traumatized by the harrowing experience, was rushed to Nyamache Subcounty Hospital to receive necessary medical care and support.

The director of education for Nyamache Sub county Janet Onduso issued a stern warning to parents, advising them not to leave their children unattended, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding them against potential harm from child abusers.

The Kisii County Police Commander confirmed the arrest and promised that the suspect would be brought before a court of law to face the charges brought against him.
