Machakos Primary School has received a financial boost of Ksh. 1.5 Million from the Machakos Town Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to aid an infrastructure expansion programme to accommodate new CBC requirements for JSS.

This grant, delivered by the Member of Parliament for the area, Caleb Mule, will be utilized to renovate two Junior School classrooms and one Grade 6 class.

“The school has grappled with overcrowded classrooms, where a single class often houses up to 70 students, far exceeding the recommended capacity of 45 pupils per class,” he explained in the letter.

Kitheka also highlighted that this year; they repurposed one of the Junior Secondary School classes into a laboratory, utilizing existing resources.

He further highlighted that looking forward, the school aims to secure funds for its 2024 infrastructure projects, and the Board of Management (BOM) is devising a comprehensive plan for constructing extra classrooms.
