In the hotly-contested polls, Bomet KNUT Executive Secretary, Malel Lang’at has been elected as the new National Vice-Chairman to replace Stanley Mutai who passed on recently. Malel’s sole opponent, Boniface Tenai reportedly stepped down in his favour at the last minute after sensing defeat.

The by- election exercise which was done in Nakuru yesterday was supervised by union Secretary-General, Collins Oyuu, National Chairman, Patrick Karinga and Woman Representative, Mercy Ndung’u.

In the Coast, union delegates settled for Dan Aloo, the Kilindini KNUT Executive Secretary to replace Fred Nguma as the Third National Trustee. Nguma joined the Kilifi County Government as a Chief Officer sometime this year.
