The Kakamega County Government has adopted Daisy Special School in the town, taking over its management from well-wishers who have been running it.

This was revealed by Governor Fernandes Barasa after he visited the school and delivered foodstuff, learning materials and success cards to the KCPE candidates.

He immediately directed the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for education Bonface Okoth to oversee its rehabilitation and put up an ultra-modern Early Childhood Development and Education (ECDE) block.

“It is a very important school and we are now taking over its management so as to give teachers and pupils a conducive learning environment,” he said.

He said the school has been performing very well over the years despite the challenges they have been grappling with.

“We should move with speed to give this school a new face so that it can have more capacity to accommodate our children living with disabilities,” he added.

Barasa also extended his best wishes to all the candidates from the county sitting their national examinations this year.
