Nyeri Deputy Governor hosts 60 Grade 4 students for civic education

The Deputy Governor of Nyeri Kinaniri Warui has recently hosted 60 Grade 4 students and their teachers from Nyeri Good Shepherd School at his office, as part of an educational initiative to bolster civic awareness among the youth.

Warui said that this endeavor is aimed to offer these students a firsthand comprehension of the pivotal roles played by County Governments and the fundamental concept of Devolution.

“The visit seeks to equip the students with a profound understanding of the seamless collaboration between County and National Governments in delivering crucial services to the local community,” he stated.

Additionally, they were afforded the opportunity to observe the day-to-day operations of County Government offices, as well as gain insight into the various departments responsible for the provision of public services.

“Beyond imparting valuable insights into the roles and responsibilities of government, this educational visit serves as an inspirational platform, motivating the students to aspire to become future leaders in their community,” Warui emphasized.

Reportedly, interactions with the Deputy Governor and his team instilled in them a sense of purpose, encouraging them to consider careers in public service and emphasizing the importance of contributing to their community’s development.

The Deputy Governor expressed his pleasure at hosting these young, bright minds in their educational journey.

He further highlighted the significance of nurturing an understanding of governance from a young age, recognizing that this approach cultivates a generation of citizens who will actively engage in local decision-making processes, ultimately bringing about positive change.
