Bungoma: Ruto urges youths to utilize TVETs as Govt equips them with internet

President William Ruto has urged youths to utilize technical training institutions to equip themselves with digital knowledge.

Speaking in Bungoma North Sub-County during his two-day development tour in Bungoma County, Ruto said his government will prioritize unemployment among youths.

Ruto revealed that the government is going to equip Bungoma North Technical Training Institute with 200 computers in the first bunch.

“And we are going to provide free internet across the six Wards that make up the entire Sub-County for the youths to utilize the internet,” Ruto said.

He added that Bungoma North Technical Training Institute will become an ICT hub in the Sub-County.

At the same time, President Ruto said Webuye East Sub County will receive 600 computers from the government and the ICT hub will be set up in the three wards that make up the Sub County.

The Head of State was accompanied by Speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha, Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria and a host of Members of Parliament and members of County Assembly.
