Education CS pledges support for education programmes in Kisii and Nyamira

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has pledged the government’s support for education programmes in Kisii and Nyamira counties.

This should serve as one way of fulfilling President William Ruto’s undertaking during his recent visit to the region.

Machogu spoke on Sunday when he joined faithfuls of Ogembo Township PAG church in Bomachoge Chache Constituency for church services.

The CS said education plays a big role in the country’s socioeconomic development and underscored the importance of the government’s effort to provide quality education to its citizens.

“Education unifies any country in the world because through it communities discover and embrace their philosophy of life.” He said.

Boochi Tendere Ward MCA James Ondari appealed to the Ministry of Education to fund Tendere Boys School is operating under a roof with dilapidated iron sheets.

Ondari said Tendere is the only boys’ Secondary School and asked leaders to consolidate their effort to develop it.

“We have Tendere boys and St. Amgela Sengera Girls High Schools which should be elevated to model schools then others may follow later.” He said.

In response, the CS told residents that to liars with the local NG-CDF offices for possible funding while they waited for other grants from the government.

The CS was flanked by sports CS Ababu Namwamba, Nyamira Woman Representative Jerusah Momanyi, area MP Alpa Miruka, and Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Khanda among Several Members of Kisii and Nyamira County Assemblies.
