Police in Bungoma have launched investigations into the circumstances under which a teacher was killed in Kiminini.
Benedict Trama’s was found dead and his body dumped under a bridge on Monday afternoon.
Speculations are rife that the 56-year-old teacher might have been murdered while heading home at night.
His lifeless body was discovered by members of the public who were passing near the river.
The locals said the teacher died under mysterious circumstances, suspecting this might be another case of domestic violence.
Area assistant chief who confirmed the incident said the deceased was killed by unknown assailants before his body dumped inside the river.
Eye witnesses said the deceased had no shirt but only a vest.
His body has since been transferred to the hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
