Kirinyaga teacher interdicted for touching female students’ private parts

The Teachers’ service commission through the Ministry of Education has interdicted a male secondary school teacher in Kirinyaga County for having intimate relationships with his students.

Through Ngiriambu Secondary School Board of Management secretary Lucy Nina Karimi, the male teacher is alleged to have had intimate relationships with two girls on different occasions between 2022 and 2023.

The letter from Kianyaga East sub-county education officer gave the teacher 21 days to reply to the allegations leveled against him.

“You have 21 days to defend yourself through writing to the Ministry of Education” stated the interdiction letter in part.

He is accused that on 8th October 2022, he hugged, unbuttoned the blouse of a form four student S.W, opened the bra, and touched the breasts at around 8 pm in the Kiswahili department office.

On 14th March 2023, the said teacher is also accused of touching thighs, buttocks, and private parts and also squeezing his chest to touch the chest of H.W. a form three student at around 6 pm in the Kiswahili department office.

“You are of immoral behavior while a teacher at the Ngiriambu girls’ secondary school following the allegations leveled against you.

you are therefore interdicted with effect from 7/6/2023″stated the letter.

“Before the commission proceeds to consider and determine your fate you are invited to make a defense statement/respond to the commission within 21 days of this letter”The letter went on to say.

The teacher is also directed to appear in person before the commission and also give a physical address and phone number.

He should also forfeit his annual leave; indicate the nearest teacher service commission sub-county offices where he will be expected to report once a month; and vacate office and continue to be away.
