Kisii MP allocates Ksh5M to elevate area primary school

Residents of Getenga Ward in South Mugirango Constituency have expressed gratitude towards the area MP Silvanus Osoro after he pledged to upgrade Metabito Boarding Primary School into a model primary school.

Led by former KNUT Gucha branch Treasurer Zebedeo Nyaboga, they said that the Ksh5 million allocated by the area NG-CDF will improve the school’s infrastructure and, in turn, boost its performance in national examinations.

“We are very happy with this gesture and hope the MP will also improve the communication and roads network within for easy mobility of students to school and back,” he said.

Nyaboga was speaking at Esinde Secondary School in the area while celebrating the appointment of Dr Wulls Omwoyo as a member of the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) governing council.

Dr Omwoyo appreciated the President and promised to use his position to assist the University in achieving its goals.

Omwoyo, a medical doctor, appealed to students to desist involvement in detrimental habits such as drug abuse.

He asked all leaders from the area to work in synergy irrespective of their political affiliations and embrace education development projects.

“Politics and politicians come and go, but the seeds of knowledge we plant in our children will remain in their lives forever,” he said.

He urged them to embrace science subjects to fit in the ever-changing tech-savvy world.
