Goals galore in first day of Kakamega term two secondary ball games

The Kakamega County Term Two ball games kicked off today at Kakamega High school bringing together spectators, students and teachers drawn from the region.

Holy Family Marukusi Secondary School Coach Brian Wafula noted that the tournament provides motivation for nurturing of students’ talents and is also provides much-needed exposure to them.

During the opening fixtures, Shanderema Secondary School football team beat Marukusi Secondary 6-0.

Wafula, who is also a Geography and Kiswahili teacher, promised that they will be back next year in full swing.

Munyuki Secondary School played with hosts Kakamega High School resulting to a 1-1 draw while Sivilie Secondary School beat Muyila Boys 2-0.

St. Agnes crushed Musoli 2-1 while Mwitoti Boys beat Butere Boys 2 goals to nil. Bishop Njenga went on to beat Mwitoti Secondary Girls 4-0.

Mwitoti Secondary School Coach Abel Mutali said that their match against Bishop Njenga was a bit hard adding that the school was a giant team as it competes with teams at the East African level.

He wished all proceeding teams all the best and urged them to maintain the fighting spirit.

Bishop Njenga Coach and Maths teacher Jonathan Kurgat said that they emerged winners through correction and guidance on their weak areas, and that they are hopeful to score more goals in the semi-finals.
