Kisii to host school music, ball games from tomorrow

Kisii County is expected to be a beehive of activities as it plans to host school ball games and music festivals starting Wednesday and will end on Tuesday next week.

According to the Kenya Secondary Schools Music Festival Association Kisii branch Secretary Nixon Matwetwe, those who qualified at the sub-county level will meet at St. Patrick’s Mosocho Secondary School for the county championship.

He noted that this year’s music festival trainers did not prepare their teams early enough because of the delay in the release of capitation funds by the Ministry.

Matwetwe appealed to participating teams to polish their items adding that the best ones will represent the county at the regional level.

Regarding ball games, Kisii County Secondary School Sports Sports Secretary Mr. Nyantika said that preparations for the county level ball games had been finalized.

The qualifying schools from various will meet at Nyamarambe Stadium in Gucha South sub-county on Wednesday.

Teams that dominated the sub-county level include Kisii School and Cardinal Otunga Mosocho from Kisii Central.

Hosting Gucha sub-county will be represented by Ndonyo, Nduru and St. Joseph’s Nyabigena High schools.

Riokindo Boys, Moteiribe Secondary School and Kerongorori Secondary School, both boys and girls, will represent Kenyenya sub county in football.

Mr. Nyantika called for utmost discipline from all participating teams during and after the competitions.
