Over 1,000 pupils in Baringo turn up to elect student leaders

Pupils of AIC Visa Oshwal Primary school in Baringo Central have successfully elected student leaders in an exercise the school head said gestured that they were prepared and cognizant of what entails election of leaders.

Speaking after the elections, organized by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Headteacher Mr. William Bowen thanked the learners, teachers and IEBC officials for their explicit role that saw over 1,000 pupils elect their colleagues.

“This process has imparted our pupils’ leadership skills and nurtured democracy therefore they will be capable of electing good leaders in future,” he said.

Bowen said that the school was ready to reaffirm its charm offensive charm to produce stellar results in this year’s KCPE national examinations.

Allan Bor was elected unopposed to head the student government as President.

He was praised for his remarkable achievement in boosting the school’s reputation after emerging the best student in the Rift Valley region during the recent essay writing completion sponsored by Pwani Oil Company.

Area IEBC Deputy Returning Officer Mr. Gilbert Ole Kitirne lauded the school for engaging them to conduct the exercise.

He praised the pupils for turning up in large numbers to the crucial event where they elected colleagues to the President, Cabinet Secretaries for Education, Sports, Legal and ICT among other posts.
