Kericho Township TVC set to hold inaugural mega exhibition

Kericho Township TVC is set to hold its inaugural annual mega exhibition on agribusiness, industry and technological innovations.

The exhibition, which will be held between June 8-10,2023, is courtesy of the institution’s collaboration with the County Government of Kericho, Agsmart Solutions Ltd and a host of other sponsors.

Principal Shadrack Tonui said that the exhibition has attracted exhibitors from the agro-industry, automobile industry, hospitality sector, cooperatives, seed and tea companies, livestock and poultry farmers among many more.

“We believe that coming together will help improve the economy and eradicate poverty while adopting to new technologies,” he said, adding that he is confident residents from the entire South Rift are looking forward to participate in the event.

He lauded the TVC for being one of the fastest growing public TVET institutions in the region. The TVC has an enrollment of over 1,000 trainees undertaking market-oriented technical and business programmes examined by KNEC.

The principal noted that the institute has been registering impressive performance in academics with a rise from 52 per cent in 2021 to 87 per cent in the recent KNEC exams series.

“We are now considered the undoubted regional academic giant. This academic performance is attributed to strong academic culture and commitment of competent and qualified trainers. Equally, the trainees have inculcated the motto – skills for empowerment,” he said.

Board of Governors Chair Dr Reuben Lang’at stated that being a public TVET institution, they endeavor to partner with stakeholders for the betterment of farming and other services.

He urged the local community to take advantage of the exhibition to exhibit their products.
