Two principals have been transferred to new stations in an unusual operation at the beginning of a new term.

The changes, done by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) as part of reversal of the delocalization of teachers, saw Barasa Samwel Kiminisi who has been the principal at Chewoyet High School – a national school in West Pokot – transferred to St. Patrick Naitiri Boys in Bungoma North, Bungoma County.

He will be swapping places with Stephen Akuto who now moves to take over from him at Chewoyet.

Education News has learnt that a handing over ceremony was conducted last Friday by the West Pokot TSC Director Benard Kimachas.

Kiminisi has built his teaching career largely in West Pokot given that he was the principal of Pser Secondary school before his promotion to head Chewoyet. He was earlier the deputy principal at Kapenguria Boys.

On the other hand, Akuto, a native of West Pokot County was earlier the principal of Sook Boys before being moved to head Naitiri Boys.

Chewoyet Boys recorded one of the best performances in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) 2022 examinations registering a mean score of 8.3 up from 7.06 the previous year.
