Litein Boys High School located in Bureti, Kericho County has been closed indefinitely following student riots that resulted in the destruction of school property, including window panes, biometric systems, and vehicles.
In an attempt to disperse the students who were becoming confrontational, police officers were forced to fire warning shots.
The cause of the protest remains unknown and investigations are ongoing.
The school Board of Management is locked up in a meeting to deliberate on the next course of action.
