Kenya Private Schools Association (KPSA) Kilifi county Chairman, Mr. Jack Omondi has advised private schools in the region to direct their resources towards developing modern infrastructure to enable a conducive learning environment for students.
Speaking during a public meeting in Malindi town recently, he lamented that many private schools in the county still lacked basic learning facilities resulting to poor performance in national examinations.
The Chairman noted that education standards around the country are high and added that availability of adequate infrastructure in the county’s schools would enable them to compete more effectively.
“You should also ensure that you comply with Ministry regulations when putting up new structures in schools,” he said.
Omondi reminded schools’ Boards of Management that they are duty bound to provide the necessary learning facilities in schools to enhance quality teaching and learning.
He urged parents in the county to encourage their children to study extra hard in order to excel in their final national examinations.
The Chairman also assured the government that KPSA will support the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) in order to move the education sector to the next level of development.
