Kapropita Girls hungry for more after 183 qualify to varsity

Kapropita Girls High School KCSE class of 2023 has set a target of achieving a Mean Grade of 9.5.

In a declaration before parents, teachers, guests and the entire school community, this year’s candidates unanimously resolved to push their individual grades and ensure the school registered the set target.

The school’s Chief Principal Jeniffer Kiprono congratulated the girls for setting higher standards for themselves and urged them to go for their dream. She also assured the girls of the support from teachers, parents and the Board of Management in ensuring that the right environment prevails for them to post impressive results.

“Our girls are ready to burn the midnight oil, turn tables and make their dreams of affirming the authority that the school is indisputably a centre of excellence,” said the self-assured Principal.

In the 2022 KCSE results, 273 candidates achieved a mean point of 7.30 up from 6.7 in 2021with183 students achieving the university entry grade. The breakdown of the grades was as follows: A- (3), B+ (16), B (36), B- (65), C+ (63), C (63), C- (17), D+ (9), and D (1).

Speaking during their thanksgiving event organized to celebrate the 2022 KCSE results, the principal said the school recorded a 67 per cent transition rate and promised even better results this year.

Simon Kiprono Chelugui, the Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives, Micro, and Small & Medium Enterprise Development who was the chief guest, implored students to cultivate confidence, focus and determination to realize the good results they desired in the forthcoming examinations.

‘‘Sky is the limit and there is no magic behind stellar performance; it is only sheer determination and certainty of what you want with yourself. I urge you ‘Deborahs’ to take your studies seriously and you will succeed,’’ Chelugui said.

Deborahs is the name christened the 2023 candidates to symbolize the strong belief that they have in themselves, just like Deborah of the Bible.

The chief guest lauded the enhanced unity of purpose bringing together the Board of Management (BoM), parents and the school fraternity, saying it had greatly allowed education in the school to thrive.

Chelugui pledged his unequivocal support for infrastructure development in the school, among them building an ultra-modern dining hall.

School Board of Management (BoM) Chairman Paul Limo congratulated the 2022 class, dubbed ‘Ruth’, for posting exemplary results.

Limo revealed that a proper master plan to improve the school infrastructure was at an advanced stage to meet the demand of the growing number of students.

Baringo County’s Lands, Housing & Urban Development Executive Committee Member (CECM) Reuben Rutto said an ambitious 3000-capacity dining hall was being considered.

He added that the county government is set to provide lighting around the school and process their title deed to let the school freely focus on future developments.

The school recognized as an academic giant, has churned out great professionals since 1957and over 10,200 students have been educated at the school which is based in Baringo County.
