Sodmized

The police in Kisii County have arrested a man who allegedly sodomized a Grade Four boy.

According to be villagers of Nyakiogiro in Nyatieko location, the boy had gone to collect mushrooms near an abandoned home on Wednesday when he was tricked by his attacker who dragged and abused him in his house.

The boy later had to struggle back home to inform his mother about the sorry ordeal.

Villagers said they reported the incident to their Chief Enock Nyakagwa, who advised them to take the victim to hospital.

“I advised them to take the boy to hospital for treatment and counseling as I followed up on the matter,” he said.

The victim was taken to Iranda Health Centre where he is still undergoing treatment.

Kisii Central Deputy County Commissioner, Elizabeth Atemi, condemned the atrocity and cautioned parents against leaving their children with relatives who had queer characters.

“It is close relatives who usually inflict these untold pains to our children. I appeal to the society to cooperate and eliminate friendship with them,” she said.

The Commissioner confirmed arrest of the suspect at Nyatieko police station.

She asked the police officers to complete investigation as soon as possible and arraign the suspect in the court of law.
