For the enhancement of Education levels in Coast region, concerted efforts by all education stakeholders is required, especially the school Boards of Managements (BoMs).
While speaking to Education News in his office in Mombasa town recently, Coast Regional Director of Education (RDE), Luka Chebet Kangogo, asked all primary and secondary school heads to engage BoMs when it comes to decision making in running school affairs, in a bid to raise education standards in their learning institutions.
He further urged stakeholders in the region to support schools to enhance education levels.
The RDE asked the stakeholders to be aggressive enough by ensuring that they provide the physical essential learning facilities so as to ensure effective delivery curriculum.
However, Kangogo further directed Quality Assurance and Standards officers in the region to ensure frequent inspection and supervision of schools to ensure smooth teaching and learning.
At the same time, he advised teachers in the region to cooperate fully and support the new education system in the country, Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) in order to make it a success.
He told the school heads to ensure that they cover the Syllabus early enough so as to pave way for thorough revisions in all subjects.
“Lazy teachers in the country will not be tolerated by the government, but instead they will be dealt with accordingly,” he warned.
