The Ministry of Education through the State Department for Basic Education has announced that there will be an audit of text books for primary and secondary Schools across the country.
This is according to a circular referenced as HQS/3/4/9 VOL.11 (30) that was seen by Education News dated April 6, 2023 authorized Dr. Belio Kipsang, the Principal Secretary of Basic Education, addressing all County Directors of Education.
“There is a system audit targeting supply of text books to both primary and secondary schools across the Country. This is being undertaken by Auditors from the Office of the Auditor General,” part of the statement read.
At the same time, Belio asked the county directors of education to provide the necessary assistance to see that the exercise realize success.
Last week, PS Belio Kipsang, while on an inspection tour of Mukumu Girls after a strange ailment struck the institution, announced that the ministry had released 15 million text books for Junior Secondary Schools (JSS)
