County Director asks stakeholders to forge unity to realize better performance

The Director of Education in Trans Nzoia County, Ms. Pamela Okelo, has called on education stakeholders in the region to forge a united front to offer a conducive learning environment to students to perform well in their studies.

Ms Akelo addressed a meeting of parents, teachers and students of Moi Boys High School Kaplamai Cherangany at a ceremony that saw students who performed well in the KCSE 2022 results of the examination in the institution feted.

“When the student is at home, it is the parent’s responsibility to monitor the behavior. When he returns to school, the teacher should also takes the lead. If there is such cooperation, what will stop the student from putting effort into education and getting better results?” she posed.

Ms. Akelo said good results come from the contribution of parents and education stakeholders to see that discipline at school and at home is emphasized.

She said that students fail to do well when parents allow them to avoid studies when they are at home on vacation, also claiming that many parents leave all academic responsibilities to their children’s teachers.

She congratulated the school teachers led by the principal Samson Cheruiyot for working hard to ensure that the school posts exemplary academic performance as well as high discipline for the students.

Mr. Cheruiyot attributed the great performance to commitment by both teachers and learners which saw the institution post an improvement in its results in comparison to the past years.

“We have always endeavored to ensure there is great performance by emphasizing on both academic and co-curricular activities which focuses on the wholesome growth of learners both in class and off class,” he said.

The results saw more than 27 students attain the minimum university entry requirement with a mean score of 6.1. St. Marks Boys Cherang’any emerged the best in the sub county with a mean score of 9.2 in the examinations.
