Interviews for school administrator positions are set to be conducted by Teachers Service Commission (TSC) across all Sub Counties as from next week.

Education News has established that the teacher employer has already submitted merit lists of prospective school administrators to Sub County TSC Directors who are set to conduct interviews together with panels.

Teachers who had applied for promotion for positions of Head Teachers and Deputy Head Teachers have received text messages inviting them to the interviews next week. Majority of counties plan to do the interviews as early as Monday, March 20, 2023.

“Following your application to Secondary teacher 1 Advert 15/2023, you are invited for an interview on 22nd March at (interview venue) at (interview time),” part of the interview message read.

However, by the time of going to press, TSC was yet to release set guidelines on how the interview exercise was going to be conducted by the panel set by Sub County Directors.

Early this year the Commission re-advertised afresh a total of 13,713 promotional vacancies for both primary and secondary school teacher after cancelling previous advert of December 2022 with those who were interested being given up to January 31, 2023 to submit their applications online.

Primary school teachers will have the lion share of the promotional vacancies with the Commission setting aside a total of 10,507 vacancies for head teachers and deputy head teachers.

During the physical interview, applicants are required to bring with them; original National ID Card, original Academic and Professional Certificate, letter of appointment to the current grade, letter of appointment to the current post, analysed individual subject results in KCSE examinations for the last three years, certified by TSC CD/SCD, Performance appraisal report from 2020-2022 and any relevant testimonials supporting the performance.
