The County Government of Uasin Gishu has confirmed all the Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers into Permanent and Pensionable terms, Governor Jonathan Bii has confirmed.

The Governor said that his administration will continue to employ ECDE teachers to breach the shortage as many teachers had ventured into other activities, trying to make both ends meet due to their poor wages.

“Our ECDE teachers can now borrow loans in Sacco. We call upon Sacco to recruit them as members so that they can benefit from the loans issued by the Sacco,” the Governor observed.

Bii noted that the ECDE teachers had suffered for long time due to poor wages.

“I decided to enroll them into Permanent and Pensionable terms instead of them waiting till the next electioneering period. This is due to the love I have for them,” observed the governor.

The governor spoke while he presided over The Noble Sacco Annual Delegates Meeting held in Eldoret town, adding that his administration is committed to support cooperative movements in his county through the Ministry of Trade, Industrialization, Tourism, Cooperatives and Enterprise Development.

He also urged Sacco to provide affordable credits to its members.

“As a county government, we are committed to build robust cooperative movements through capacity building and resource mobilization,” revealed the governor.

He thanked the Noble Sacco board and its management for good governance that has propelled the Sacco’s growth.

The Governor lauded the Sacco for being ranked position one in Uasin Gishu County in the just concluded Agricultural Society of Kenya exhibition where it scooped three trophies in different categories.
