The youth have been told to shun drugs and substance abuse because they ruin lives and deter goals.

Kisii County Forest Officer said that abuse of drugs like alcohol blur the brains of students and may lead to them loosing focus in studies.

“This gives you false assumption of being comfortable instead of remaining sober to be able to make good decisions in life,” he said.

The forester who was addressing the youth at Kenyenya town on Monday, told the youth to make use of social media platforms to enable them identify job advertisements and vacancies for them to apply for placement instead of complaining ignorantly about lack of employment in the country.

“There are many job opportunities in the country but they need people who are informed and are able to cope with the emerging global trends,” he added.

While reiterating that information is power, the officer advised school leavers to join local Training institutes to acquire computer knowledge because it is another added advantage requirement of job placement in any field.

He told the youths to turn up in big numbers for the advertised recruitment of forest guards at Kisii stadium on March 8, 2023.

“Go there with all your certificates and try your luck,” he encouraged them.
