Embu university kicks off 5th annual cultural festival

The University of Embu has kicked off the 5th annual two-day Cultural Festival aimed at cultivating national integration.

While speaking during the opening of the festival, Vice Chancellor (Research and Extension) Prof. Kiplagat Kotut noted that this year’s theme is to nurture talents among students through providing a platform to showcase their talents.

After the opening, students took to the floor to showcase their talents from dance, song and fashion shows.

Prof. Kotut observed that the country’s academic system focuses more on academics  than talents saying nowadays people make a living through talents.

He disclosed that the varsity did not fund the festival but it was facilitated by partners.

“We partnered with Kenya Commercial Bank to make this happen,” he said.

The festival planning committee Chairperson Dr. Timothy Kinoti said that it was a nice gesture to see the festival resume after it was suspended due to COVID-19.
