Kibabii University has signed an MoU with Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) officials to offer scholarships and discounted school fees to union members who wish to pursue Masters and Ph.D. programmes at the university.
Speaking at the university after a meeting between KUPPET officials and university administration, Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Isaac Odeo Ipara said that over 700 teachers were enrolled through the scholarship already and were hoping to enroll more.

KUPPET Secretary General Akelo Misori said that the agreement targets those studying Mathematics-related courses and called upon recently employed teachers to take advantage of the programme and advance their careers.
Akelo added that as the union agitates for increment of funds to universities, the university should strive to produce competent graduates.

The union National Chairman Hon. Omboko Milemba and National Treasurer Catherine Wambilyanga said its officials will on February 16 meet the education committee to discuss the delayed funding to public universities.
