UNICEF, MasterCard facilitate training of 60 nurses on Covid-19

UNICEF organization has facilitated the training of 60 nurses and medical practitioners on Covid-19 at Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kisii County.

Speaking during the training on Tuesday, an officer from the organization Joram Oisebe said that they are committed towards fighting the disease.

He revealed that Kisii County is among the eight counties that were  earmarked  to be facilitated by UNICEF in conjunction with the MasterCard Foundation to steer the fight against the pandemic in the country.

Oisebe thanked the administration of the hospital led by CEO Dr. Enock Ondari for hosting the training.

The Medical Officer in charge of Vaccination against Covid-19 Jackine Momamyi said that the disease is still in our midst and residents should not put their guard down.

She advised the residents to continue wearing face masks, washing their and hands and maintaining social distance.

The medic also appealed to all students to avoid staying in groups during the December holiday in order to avoid contracting the disease.

She asked church pastors and elders to be cautious about the disease during Christmas, New year  celebrations and other related festivities.
