Shirere ward Member of County Assembly (MCA) David Igunza has asked KCPE candidates in his jurisdiction to produce at least 200 students with 400 marks and above in the national examinations to improve from the 20 candidates who achieved the feat in 2021 KCPE.

Igunza who is also former Kakamega Primary school head teacher urged them to post exemplary performance in order to join national schools and also benefit from various scholarship programmes.

The MCA was speaking at the school where he urged the Working Party to retain Junior Secondary School (JSS) in primary schools.

“Junior Secondary learners  are underage and should not be moved too far from their home environment,”  he said.

The school head teacher Dickson Wanyangu thanked parents and teachers for supporting the school to produce good results.
