Tabagon Girls targets 100 per cent university transition in 2022 KCSE

Tabagon Girls based in Baringo County recorded sterling KCSE 2021 results by posting a mean of 8.4 up from 7.5 in KCSE 2020.

The school’s academic journey has been on an upward growth trajectory from 5.2 in 2017, 6.0 in 2018, 6.6 and 2019 KCSE.

Its good performance in 2021 KCSE saw it ranked the second best school in Baringo County and the 2022 candidates have set their eyes on achieving their set target of 9.0 and a transition rate of 100 per cent to universities under the government sponsored programme.

Speaking during their AGM, the Principal Mrs Jane Sambu attributed the results to sacrifice, hard-work and determination among the teaching staff, parents and students.

She said that they had 9 B+, 59 B plain, 62 B-, 12 C+, 1C- and only 1 D+, a feat she said was a record since the inception of the 8-4-4 system.

“Today, we are elated to celebrate the good results that we posted. İt has been a long and gradual journey to the top which we have worked tirelessly for. İ thank the students and teachers for relentlessly going for the best,” she said.

She revealed that plans are in place geared towards making the school the best in Kenya and exuded confidence that they will make it.

She pointed out that they are benchmarking with the top perfroming schools in the country as well as partnering with them to share success stories and academic materials.

The Principal called on parents and education stakeholders to support them.

“Our student population has grown to 929 hence we’re calling upon the CDF, Ministry and other donors to help support the school to raise the overstretched facilities,” she stated.

She observed that the girls were crowned the national champions in this year’s music festival competitions held in Kisumu with their Coral Verse 1121 J won with 91 marks.

She singled out her team of teaching staff for their dedication and thanked the non-teaching staff for the good coordination.

BoM Chairman Mr Sila Toromo lauded the girls for their hard-work and impressive results  and added that they are working on raising the university entry rate from the current 99 percent to 100 percent.

“The board is lobbying for funds from various partners to help in infrastructural facelift,” he added.

He said their aim is to nurture an holistic all-rounded girl-child who can prosper across all spheres of the globe.
