Soy Member of Parliament, David Kiplagat has suggested that the Competency Based Curriculum’s (CBC) Junior Secondary School should be domiciled in primary schools since it has adequate infrastructure.

Speaking to the press, he said that primary schools have enough infrastructure compared to secondary schools thus it is easier for them to continue learning there.

“Concerning the issue of CBC, Grades 7 and 8 should be domiciled in primary schools since secondary schools do not have enough facilities to accommodate them,” he added.

Kiplagat noted that it was very important that the curriculum reduces the cost burden on parents.

“The implementation of the curriculum has been rushed. There is a need for changes to be made and more teachers employed so that they can implement it,” he said.

The MP also urged the youth to join Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions claiming it would help them get self-employment.

“Youth who have finished their O-level education should join TVET institutions where they will be impacted with technical skills and knowledge that will help them earn a living,” Kiplagat said.
