Parents from Nyamira County have protested the release of a secondary school teacher who allegedly defiled a student.

This is after Keroka Resident Magistrate released the twenty-five year old teacher, Wesley Angika Asira on a Ksh. 300,000 bond after appearing in Court.

According to Nyamira North sub county Police Commander Mr. Patrick Ngeiywa, the mother of the 15-year-old Form Two girl detected questionable movement between her daughter and the teacher.

She informed the police at Ekerenyo station who set a trap to catch the culprit.

When the teacher was spotted with the girl, the police followed them stealthily and found them naked in the teacher’s bedroom.

“We found them in a compromising state and brought them in for interrogation,” Ngeiywa said.

The duo recorded a statement with the police and the teacher appeared in court on Monday, 21st October.

The parents are in fear that the suspect might harm the victim and tamper with evidence that might deny the minor her justice.

The effort to by Education News to reach Nyamira County Director of Education Mr. Boniface Ouko to comment on the matter were futile by the time of publishing this story.
