Senior Civil Servant breaks glass ceiling by writing 9 books

By Roy Hezron

A Senior Civil Servant in the Ministry of Education Archbishop Titus Zakayo Ingana has launched nine books he has authored over the years.

The Nine books were launched by the Vice Chancellor University of Eldoret Prof. Teresa Akenga on behalf of Principal Secretary State Department for University Education and Research Amb. Simon Nabukwesi in Nairobi.

In his remarks, the PS observed that Book writing is not a common feature within the civil service fraternity. “Most Government employees always undertake tasks within their duties and don’t bother delving deeper to write books as we are witnessing at this book’s launch” said the PS in a speech read on his behalf by Prof. Akenga.

He said the simple act of committing to a writing project, and seeing it through, measures the depths of discipline.

“Writing a book can be a powerful way to get in touch with personal thoughts, values, and motivations. Actually, there is a school of thought that writing is cheaper than therapy. This is probably the most impactful reason why writing is important. If you can’t or don’t write, you probably find it more difficult to communicate with all sorts of people. Another observation is that writing every day builds discipline,” the PS said.
