Ministry announces Ksh. 24M prize in student innovation contest

The Ministry of Education in Kenya has urged schools to take part in the 2023 Earth Prize Competition – an annual competition on environmental sustainability across the world.

The competition which is open to students aged 13 -19 globally, involves projects that are aimed towards environment conservation; whereby the teams whose projects have the most potential to solve environmental problems in the world are awarded prizes to the tune of 200,000 USD (Ksh. 24,170,000).

In a Circular dated September 28, 2022; the Principal Secretary in the State Department for Early Learning and Basic Education Dr. Julius Jwan has urged all County Directors of Education to share the information to interested schools in their respective counties

The registration process started September 1, 2022 and is will end on November 30, 2022.

Interested schools have been instructed to visit “earth-foundation.org” for more information and watch Youtube videos on the same.

The event is organized by the government of Switzerland.
