Kakamega gubernatorial aspirant promises goodies for education sector

 Kakamega County gubernatorial aspirant Fenandes Barasa has promised to implement a Shs20 million ‘forward fund’ to facilitate education programmes in all the 60 wards.

Speaking in Kakamega town, Barasa said he will increase bursaries  to assist needy students join secondary school and colleges, adding that Kenya Industrial Estates (KIE) will be given contracts to make furniture for all schools if he is elected the next governor.

He said he will in addition allocate each MCA 20 million shillings to fund education projects in their Wards.

He promised to give scholarships to candidates who pass in KCSE, saying he is well-connected with an array of potential sponsors.

He reassured county ECD teachers that he will employ them on permanent and pensionable terms.
