Speaking during handing over of the beneficiaries, Mr. Mahelo said the sponsorship programme came to being after he realized that many young people stayed at home due to lack of school fees despite the government’s offer to pay for them a total of Ksh.30,000 out of the total Ksh.56,000.

He expressed his intentions to alleviate illiteracy in his ward stating that an educated society was as an empowered one.

The MCA noted that for a society to grow, young people needed to get education hence targeting needy Class 8 and Form 4 students from his ward to be enrolled at the institute to pursue technical courses.

Speaking after receiving the students at the institute, the Principal Judith Akaranga assured them that the institute had sufficient resources and they would greatly benefit from the programmes offered.
